5 Key Factors On How To Market On The Internet

Having success online all revolves around a simple formula. Traffic = Leads & Leads= Sales

The more traffic and visitors you get to your website or offer the greater amount of leads you will receive. Creating leads is essential to marketing successfully on the internet. But there is one more thing that is even more important, and that’s lead conversion because converting leads into sales is how you will actually make money.

Now let’s take this one step further. The best way to convert leads into sales is to have a high quality, high value, low cost front end offer. So you will get leads and conversions base upon your front end offer but the beautiful thing about generating more leads is that you the ability to sell or re-sell that lead down the line in the future with a back end offer. Back end offers are typically higher quality, higher value and a higher cost. This is called future sales and its where you can really bring home the bacon.

The Email Marketing Factor, building YOUR LIST!

Email marketing and list building (leads) is a very important factor in communicating with your potential clients. Try to make newsletters that draw in attention from your readers. Your goal is to give subscribers the feeling that your emails are useful to them, not spam messages.   You want to deliver VALUE to your subscribers while you sprinkle in selling them on what you offering.  With a newsletter, you can remain in touch with a customer for quite some time, and make him or her feel welcome to return to your website or opportunity. It’s always good to provide value first in email marketing prior to making your sales pitch. However the value could truly be in the product itself so you’ll want to make that point to your target audience. You can market on the Internet until the cows come home, but if your product or service isn’t any good you will have a very hard time capturing leads and converting sales.

The Landing Page Factor

A landing page is any web page that a visitor can arrive at or “land” on and it is one of the most crucial elements in converting traffic and generating leads.   Typically a landing page (or squeeze page) is standalone web page distinct from your main website that has been designed for a single focused objective….to capture leads…typically someone’s name and or email.  This means that your landing page should have no global navigation to tie it to your primary website. The main reason for this is to limit the options available to your visitors, helping to guide them toward your intended goal which is to get them to take action on your CTA (call to action) …something enticing to get someone to give you their email.   Often times this can be done by offering something of value, perhaps a free report, a free video, or access to some sort of membership or training event.  If you want to generate leads and make sales online it is essential to have a landing page setup.  There are a lot of 3rd party landing page company’s out there…I’ve used LeadPages, ClickFunnels and OptimizePress all of which are very good but ClickFunnels is by far the best.

*TIP – Once you have your email marketing system setup you can integrate that with your landing pages…this way when someone gives you their email by opting in their information is automatically populated in your email marketing back-office so you can follow up with an email via newsletter blasts or an auto-responder series.

The Blogging Factor

Content is king in the eyes of the search engines. One of the best ways to get the word out about your product or business is by writing about it.  Blogging is one of the best ways to ATTRACT people to you and your business.  Start blogging and creating articles that are relevant to your business, brand or product. If you don’t want to create content yourself you can always pay someone to do it. The golden rule is to create original value rich content. A common mantra of Google is, “what is good for the reader is good for your ranking.” The goal of “Google” is bring back search results most relevant for what someone is actually searching for. Blogging is a long term strategy that will help you build credibility, authority, increased traffic, leads, and sales.  A simple process is to blog daily or weekly and tell others about your blog post by sharing it on social media.   If you focus on this methodology when writing articles you will have greater success in driving traffic and visitors to your website or offer.

The Social Media Factor

Word of mouth is an incredible way to advertise. Many people engage in social media networks – meaning that many users network and turn one another on to different websites on the web. If one user’s interest was piqued, then they would inform their circle of web friends about the site. Friends of that immediate circle would have contacts outside and overlapping into another circle thus creating more of an opportunity of networking and so on.

Facebook is huge and it continues to grow with new members joining in thousands everyday. This is social media outlet is perfect for creating a network or community of your targeted audience. It’s perfect for contests, special sales and informational events like webinars etc. You can also do paid ads on Facebook, something we will get to a bit later. Create a Fan Page for your product or company and start engaging with folks who would have interest in what you are offering. You can do this thru the paid angle with ads or using the Facebook search feature. Most people on the planet have a Facebook so you’re really reaching a wide audience in using this social media platform.

Twitter. With Twitter you can provide your customers and followers with the latest news about your newest products and services. Just be sure not to overuse it since it may be construed as spam. Spam tends to turn customers off and they’ll cease to follow your Twitter feed if you overload them with sales talk.

Social Bookmarking is another key strategy you can implement. Sites like StumbleUpon and Digg allow you share links and content to others. This can sometimes have a viral effect and is very important factor in getting a website or blog rank in the search engines. This concept is called “Social Signals”. Social signals is valuing how people on the internet are interacting with your website or product through Social Media. Are they liking your page, sharing your page, bookmarking it, etc. The search engines are putting a very high value on social interaction so be sure to add it into your quiver.

The Paid Traffic Factor

Paid advertising is the fastest and quickest way to success when marketing on the internet. There is a multitude of ways utilize paid advertising for your business on the internet.

Banner Ads: Banner ads are basically the same as any graphic advertisement you would see in a magazine or newspaper, but has the ability of linking the viewer directly to the advertiser’s web page. The purpose of a banner ad is not only to be seen, but it enables advertisers to be seen among target areas. If your product or service is niche related then it would be wise to advertise where viewers are going to be linking. You want your banner ad to have an impact, so content and placement (on site and actual page) is key.

Affiliate Ads: Affiliate ads are advertisements put on other websites in order to gain potential clients. The host of the affiliate ad takes a percentage of the sales the ad generates.

Text Link Ads: Text link ads are much like banner ads except they are strictly textual and appear in the content and of a site. Many businesses pay for text link ads to promote their company and products.

Pay Per Click: Search engines will offer advertisers spots featured on results pages based on the user’s keyword search. The advantage is the featured company will appear among competitors (inspiring consumers to associate the featured company in with competitors that organically rank higher). This is a way for consumers to serendipitously find a business when the immediacy of their search is germane to the nature of the featured business. A company can budget how much they would like to invest in the venture and monitor lead generation.

Solo Ads:  A Solo Ad is an ad or advertisement that is sent out to an entire or portion of an email subscriber list not owned by you!  What you are basically doing is buying targeted traffic to your webpage or affiliate links that you are looking to promote. I personally use solo ads to continue to build my list, and work closely with affiliate companies to know which products are converting well.  Solo Ads are one of the fastest ways to build a subscriber list.

Finally….once you understand the basic methods that are available, you can develop a specific marketing plan that is sure to meet your needs. Just remember that the best thing you can do is to be genuine in the way you market on the internet, if you do that your marketing efforts will be lucrative.

Stop Making Excuses And Start Making Money

stop making excuses

People are really good at making excuses, and most of the time we know they’re lies.

Instead of saying I can’t, why not ask yourself…”How can I?”

We have this incredible ability to justify why we can’t do something – especially to ourselves. We can convince ourselves of almost anything; we’re just being realistic, responsible, and smart. It’s probably for the best; we didn’t really want it anyway.

Can I offer YOU some straight talk out of “tough love”?

Stop making excuses and start making money.  If you’re broke, do something about it. Quit making excuses for it.

Excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure. – Don Wilder

Quit acting like it’s okay or acceptable to be a grown adult who can’t pay their bills.

Quit acting like it’s not a serious problem just because a few million OTHER people are having the same experience.

It’s not okay.

Here’s why: everyone has X amount of time, energy and creativity to use every day.

And when you’re broke….you spend ALL your time, energy and creativity trying to figure out how to rob Peter so you can pay Paul.

You spend ALL your time, energy and creativity playing games like “How can I keep my electricity and phone on at the same time?” And, “How can I pay my car payment and still get my daughter something for her birthday this week?”

Result: you are SPENT. You give 100% of your time, effort and energy to satisfy your own needs.

And if all you ever do is focus on your own needs…..

how are you supposed to ever be a contribution to anyone else?

stop making excusesYour creativity is not meant to be spent 100% on trying to meet your own needs. There are other people, other organizations and other projects that desperately need your time, effort and energy…

….and they aren’t getting it because you’re so busy being broke that there’s nothing left.

Another way to say it is this: being broke is one of the most selfish things you can do. Please understand that I’m not criticizing you as a person.  You may be a good husband, good father, good wife, good mother, good church member, good community member, good teacher, good brother, good sister, good friend, etc.

I’m not saying anything about you as a human being.

I’m just talking about what being BROKE does to anyone (good or not).

If you are a grown adult who’s BROKE…..

….you can never be the BEST you can be at any of those things.

Because you spend all your time, energy and creativity putting out financial fires.

Stop it.

Fix it.

Do something about it.

Poverty is a dirty, degrading, humiliating disease that is 100% curable and preventable.

It’s not okay for you to be a grown adult who can’t pay his or her bills.

And the sooner you admit that and decide to do something about it — ANYTHING about it — the sooner you can start giving the gift of your time, energy and creativity to others.

They need it. They need you.

Fix your finances and start being a contribution to the people who need you.

Thanks for reading this. I appreciate you and I hope you understand this is coming from love….and from my own journey from “broke and selfish” to “prosperous and contributing”.
