how to become a legendary marketer
Market, marketing, marketer.

Marketing is one of the most important things that few people stop to consider. On a daily basis, people are exposed to thousands of advertisements, both on a micro and macro level.

And yet it’s pretty rare for most of these ads to stand out. What’s the trick to establishing memorable brands and campaigns that will bring in millions of dollars?

The answer is simple: become a legendary marketer.

Failure to properly market a business is one of the biggest reasons for businesses shutting down today. So those that want to get ahead in today’s fast-paced marketing world pay attention.

Here are a few helpful tips on how to become a legendary marketer in a short amount of time.

Accept That It’s Hard Work

The journey to becoming an expert marketer begins with one simple truth: to become a legend, one must be willing to earn that status.

It’s impossible to be both an expert marketer and a lazy businessperson. Marketing is, at its core, a hard, creative, labor-intensive craft.

Nothing in the marketing world is handed over or given. Everything has to be earned, and the sooner that’s accepted, the sooner one can become a legend.

It’s going to take thousands of hours, tons of hard work, and a whole lot of sacrifice. Not everyone has what it takes, and that’s okay. It’s important to analyze how much one really wants to be a [eafl id=”1986″ name=”DD End Financial Stress” text=”legendary marketer”].

Those that put in the hours are sure to find an exciting and worthwhile career.

Ask ‘Why?’

The vast majority of work in the marketing field is concerned with one question: how?

But before getting the corner office and expensive suits, start from square one by asking a far more complicated question.

Why?

Why become a legendary marketer in the first place? Why not become a car salesperson or a banker or one of the thousands of other careers?

Legendary marketers are hungry for success because they have something that drives them each and every day.

Asking why is a great way to determine what an individual values in the marketing world and whether or not its truly the best career path.

Establish an Identity

Each week, millions of people tune in the popular ABC series Shark Tank. For the unfamiliar, the premise is rather simple. Hungry, young entrepreneurs bring their best ideas in front of a panel of potential investors including Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary.

Surprisingly, the show is a hit. So why would so many people want to watch others risk their money for a life-changing investment?

It’s simple: because each of the investors has established his or her own identity.
Viewers tune in for the marketers themselves because they’re not faceless corporations. They’re people, with very real thoughts and feelings.

Part of marketing is personality, so don’t be afraid to stand out simply by being yourself.

Consider Niche Marketing

Since marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry, it seems logical that people would flock to it. But there are so many people out there that try and master it all that they never really perfect one skill.

Let their mistake be your advantage. Don’t worry about all types of marketing, focus on one or a few.

It’s great to go where the money is, but it’s going to be hard to get anywhere if the market is too big. Think of what interests you on an individual level and work from there.

Consider learning skills like digital marketing, content marketing, or website development. These are among the most in-demand types of marketing out there in today’s world.

Shadow The Experts

So far, we’ve dealt with a lot of hypothetical situations. And for some, that may be more than enough to become the next great legendary marketer.

But most people tend to learn by doing rather than reading or seeing. That’s precisely why it’s recommended that newer marketers try and shadow more experienced marketing legends.

Get out there and make some friends. Network with local marketers and ask about shadowing their office for a day. You’ll learn so much by seeing what really goes on in a marketing department.

If that seems too difficult or intimidating, never be afraid to reach out. Ponder the types of marketers that one could really admire, then send them an email.

Most people are more than happy to talk about their success or offer a few words of advice. Don’t be afraid to get out there, there’s no telling who a future marketer could meet!

Make Mistakes

If readers take away nothing else, let it be known that mistakes are often the best learning tools one has.

It’s crucial to stop viewing mistakes as failures and start thinking of them as learning opportunities. No one gets it right 100 percent of the time, especially in marketing.

In fact, some of the world’s biggest brands often make costly mistakes.

Remember the Arch Deluxe from McDonald’s? Probably not. What about the flop that was Crystal Pepsi? If these products strike a chord, it isn’t because of fond memories — it’s because they didn’t work.

But the companies took these lessons to heart and improved. The latter even made a huge comeback recently! A legendary marketer in the making needs to do the same.

The ability to pick oneself up, dust themselves off, and learn from those past mistakes truly sets a wannabe apart from a legendary marketer.

Never Stop Learning

Finally, anyone who wants to be a legendary marketer needs to understand that no matter how much schooling they’ve had, how much they’ve done, or how much money they’ve made, there’s still so much to learn.

And that’s extra important in today’s fast-paced, digitally-oriented world!

Marketing trends change at a moment’s notice, so keep an eye out. Find trusted news sources or blogs and read as much as possible. The more information a marketer arms themselves with, the more successful they’ll be.

Want to Become a Legendary Marketer?

There’s no surefire, easy way to become a marketing legend or successful enterperneur. But keep these tips in mind and work hard.

Top 10 Affiliate Marketing Trends for 2018

Business, Technology, Internet and network concept. Young businessman shows the word: Affiliate marketing

Stay in the game with the latest trends! We’re sharing the top 10 affiliate marketing trends for 2018 that you should know in this post!

There has never been a better time to get involved with affiliate marketing.

Research shows affiliate marketing is on track to being a 6.8 billion dollar industry by 2020!

Of course, what works once isn’t always guaranteed to work again. Out with the old, in with the new.

You’re going to need to stay on top of the affiliate marketing trends.

Affiliate marketing changes quickly, so it’s important to know what’s in and what’s out.

Read on to discover the top ten affiliate marketing trends for 2018.

1) Cross Device Tracking

Think about how you browse the Internet.

You don’t use just one device. Instead, you probably go from work computer to smart phone to home computer, right?

And as you switch back and forth, you expect some kind of consistency in the content you see.

Potential customers are no different. They might read about your product on their phone, then decide to actually buy it once they’ve gotten to a computer.

Your affiliate marketing strategy needs to be able to track their behavior, regardless of the device they’re using.

2) Mobile Strategy

The first item on this list should help you guess why mobile strategy is key this year.

Sure, going mobile isn’t exactly new. But now it could be more important than ever.

Mobile app revenue across the globe is expected to reach a staggering $76.5 billion in 2018.

Yes, that’s billion with a ‘b.’

People can’t ditch their desktops for phones fast enough.

If you have a weak mobile strategy, you’re cheating yourself out of a lot of money. Don’t leave cash on the table!

3) Content Focus

Now, don’t take this to mean that using coupons or deals to drive in those affiliate clicks is a bad thing. It’s not.

There will always be customers out there who are motivated to click ‘buy’ because of a good deal.

But if you want to create repeat customers, relying on things like coupons is just not going to work.

Instead, focus on content. If someone purchases your product because they like what they see — not just because it’s cheap — they’re more likely to be confident in their decision.

They’ve probably done their research. Maybe they’re convinced that they need what you’re offering.

That customer is way more likely to become loyal to your brand.

Focusing on content requires patience, but it’s worth the wait.

4) Performance-Based Models

Performance-based models are useful for a couple reasons.

First, most companies are thrilled to pay only when there are measurable results, instead of throwing money at a strategy and hoping it works.

Second, with the amount of data available, it’s easy to analyze the performance of each ad, and then tailor affiliate marketing strategies.

Even though people have been using these models for years, performance-based models will probably gain popularity in 2018 since they’re so wallet friendly.

5) Refer-A-Friend

It’s conventional wisdom that people are more likely to listen to people they trust.

Refer-A-Friend programs are another cost-effective move to add to your 2018 affiliate marketing strategy.

Getting existing customers to spread the word to their friends not only expands your audience reach, but it’s also cheaper than traditional methods.

If you create incentives for customers to email Mom, Aunt Sally, and the couple in Apartment B about your product, they’ll do the marketing for you…for free.

6) Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing basically combines the best aspects of refer-a-friend and a content focus.

The subscribers or followers of a popular YouTube personality, for example, follow that person because of the content they put out. Those subscribers are the perfect example of loyal customers.

If that YouTuber endorses a product, you can bet that their subscribers are going to buy it.

This is a win for everyone — you get to build your brand and hopefully expand your audience, while the YouTuber gets some cash in their pocket every time a subscriber clicks their affiliate link.

7) Using Multiple Marketing Channels

Like how customers can view your content across multiple devices, they also see lots of different types of marketing.

Banner ads, search ads, short commercials before videos…as important as affiliate marketing is, don’t get pigeonholed.

Tunnel vision will only hurt you.

Learn about a variety of marketing methods. The best and savviest affiliate marketers this year will know how to mix various methods to get the best results.

8) Moving Away From Tradition

This is one of the biggest affiliate marketing trends to know — traditional methods just aren’t cutting it anymore.

In 2017, you’re going to have to change your thinking.

Humanize your marketing strategy. Consider working with new partners. Reexamine how you’ve been doing business.

While we would all love to believe that every choice we make is foolproof, the truth is there’s always room for improvement.

Even the best plan isn’t perfect.

Challenging the status quo is how things get better. Maybe your company has an amazing idea that will change the face of affiliate marketing in 2018!

9) Video

If you haven’t already incorporated video into your affiliate marketing strategy, start making your plan now.

The stats of online video don’t lie — four times as many customers would rather watch a video about a product than read about it. And after they’ve watched it, they’ve got about an 80% chance of remembering it a week later.

A week!

Using video not only grabs customers’ attention, it connects you with them. Video can also help raise your brand’s perception.

You can make videos about a variety of topics — a product, your staff, your company’s origin story. Whatever you choose, make it short, sweet, and engaging.

10) Automation

Finally, as the affiliate field continues to grow and companies get bigger, brands will be less likely to spend lots of time on repetitive tasks.

Instead, a likely 2018 affiliate marketing trend is automation. More companies will create and run programs that can monitor the heaps of data.

In the meantime, the actual employees can turn their focus to more important things, hopefully creating even more revenue for the company!

The Bottom Line on Affiliate Marketing Trends

These are the affiliate marketing trends that are going to be most important throughout 2017 — but no matter what, make sure you’re keeping up with all of the latest developments.

how to market on the internet

If you’re looking to learn how to market on the internet you’re definitely not alone. It’s one of the most searched terms on the internet!

The internet is the new frontier to be conquered in terms of marketing. Marketing on the internet is the ideal tool when you are looking to increase your exposure and sales. Everyone from big companies to small business owners are looking to leverage the internet in order to sell and promote their products and services. When applied correctly, internet marketing can be a low-cost and highly effective marketing strategy for a company. However, you need to educate yourself in order to succeed and earning how to market on the internet the proper way will ensure the greatest amount of results for your business.

If you would like to increase your income potential by marketing on the internet then familiarize yourself with the advice and tips found in this article.

5 Key Factors On How To Market On The Internet

Having success online all revolves around a simple formula. Traffic = Leads & Leads= Sales

The more traffic and visitors you get to your website or offer the greater amount of leads you will receive. Creating leads is essential to marketing successfully on the internet. But there is one more thing that is even more important, and that’s lead conversion because converting leads into sales is how you will actually make money.

Now let’s take this one step further. The best way to convert leads into sales is to have a high quality, high value, low cost front end offer. So you will get leads and conversions base upon your front end offer but the beautiful thing about generating more leads is that you the ability to sell or re-sell that lead down the line in the future with a back end offer. Back end offers are typically higher quality, higher value and a higher cost. This is called future sales and its where you can really bring home the bacon.

The Email Marketing Factor, building YOUR LIST!

Email marketing and list building (leads) is a very important factor in communicating with your potential clients. Try to make newsletters that draw in attention from your readers. Your goal is to give subscribers the feeling that your emails are useful to them, not spam messages.   You want to deliver VALUE to your subscribers while you sprinkle in selling them on what you offering.  With a newsletter, you can remain in touch with a customer for quite some time, and make him or her feel welcome to return to your website or opportunity. It’s always good to provide value first in email marketing prior to making your sales pitch. However the value could truly be in the product itself so you’ll want to make that point to your target audience. You can market on the Internet until the cows come home, but if your product or service isn’t any good you will have a very hard time capturing leads and converting sales.

The Landing Page Factor

A landing page is any web page that a visitor can arrive at or “land” on and it is one of the most crucial elements in converting traffic and generating leads.   Typically a landing page (or squeeze page) is standalone web page distinct from your main website that has been designed for a single focused objective….to capture leads…typically someone’s name and or email.  This means that your landing page should have no global navigation to tie it to your primary website. The main reason for this is to limit the options available to your visitors, helping to guide them toward your intended goal which is to get them to take action on your CTA (call to action) …something enticing to get someone to give you their email.   Often times this can be done by offering something of value, perhaps a free report, a free video, or access to some sort of membership or training event.  If you want to generate leads and make sales online it is essential to have a landing page setup.  There are a lot of 3rd party landing page company’s out there…I’ve used LeadPages, ClickFunnels and OptimizePress all of which are very good but ClickFunnels is by far the best.

*TIP – Once you have your email marketing system setup you can integrate that with your landing pages…this way when someone gives you their email by opting in their information is automatically populated in your email marketing back-office so you can follow up with an email via newsletter blasts or an auto-responder series.

The Blogging Factor

Content is king in the eyes of the search engines. One of the best ways to get the word out about your product or business is by writing about it.  Blogging is one of the best ways to ATTRACT people to you and your business.  Start blogging and creating articles that are relevant to your business, brand or product. If you don’t want to create content yourself you can always pay someone to do it. The golden rule is to create original value rich content. A common mantra of Google is, “what is good for the reader is good for your ranking.” The goal of “Google” is bring back search results most relevant for what someone is actually searching for. Blogging is a long term strategy that will help you build credibility, authority, increased traffic, leads, and sales.  A simple process is to blog daily or weekly and tell others about your blog post by sharing it on social media.   If you focus on this methodology when writing articles you will have greater success in driving traffic and visitors to your website or offer.

The Social Media Factor

Word of mouth is an incredible way to advertise. Many people engage in social media networks – meaning that many users network and turn one another on to different websites on the web. If one user’s interest was piqued, then they would inform their circle of web friends about the site. Friends of that immediate circle would have contacts outside and overlapping into another circle thus creating more of an opportunity of networking and so on.

Facebook is huge and it continues to grow with new members joining in thousands everyday. This is social media outlet is perfect for creating a network or community of your targeted audience. It’s perfect for contests, special sales and informational events like webinars etc. You can also do paid ads on Facebook, something we will get to a bit later. Create a Fan Page for your product or company and start engaging with folks who would have interest in what you are offering. You can do this thru the paid angle with ads or using the Facebook search feature. Most people on the planet have a Facebook so you’re really reaching a wide audience in using this social media platform.

Twitter. With Twitter you can provide your customers and followers with the latest news about your newest products and services. Just be sure not to overuse it since it may be construed as spam. Spam tends to turn customers off and they’ll cease to follow your Twitter feed if you overload them with sales talk.

Social Bookmarking is another key strategy you can implement. Sites like StumbleUpon and Digg allow you share links and content to others. This can sometimes have a viral effect and is very important factor in getting a website or blog rank in the search engines. This concept is called “Social Signals”. Social signals is valuing how people on the internet are interacting with your website or product through Social Media. Are they liking your page, sharing your page, bookmarking it, etc. The search engines are putting a very high value on social interaction so be sure to add it into your quiver.

The Paid Traffic Factor

Paid advertising is the fastest and quickest way to success when marketing on the internet. There is a multitude of ways utilize paid advertising for your business on the internet.

Banner Ads: Banner ads are basically the same as any graphic advertisement you would see in a magazine or newspaper, but has the ability of linking the viewer directly to the advertiser’s web page. The purpose of a banner ad is not only to be seen, but it enables advertisers to be seen among target areas. If your product or service is niche related then it would be wise to advertise where viewers are going to be linking. You want your banner ad to have an impact, so content and placement (on site and actual page) is key.

Affiliate Ads: Affiliate ads are advertisements put on other websites in order to gain potential clients. The host of the affiliate ad takes a percentage of the sales the ad generates.

Text Link Ads: Text link ads are much like banner ads except they are strictly textual and appear in the content and of a site. Many businesses pay for text link ads to promote their company and products.

Pay Per Click: Search engines will offer advertisers spots featured on results pages based on the user’s keyword search. The advantage is the featured company will appear among competitors (inspiring consumers to associate the featured company in with competitors that organically rank higher). This is a way for consumers to serendipitously find a business when the immediacy of their search is germane to the nature of the featured business. A company can budget how much they would like to invest in the venture and monitor lead generation.

Solo Ads:  A Solo Ad is an ad or advertisement that is sent out to an entire or portion of an email subscriber list not owned by you!  What you are basically doing is buying targeted traffic to your webpage or affiliate links that you are looking to promote. I personally use solo ads to continue to build my list, and work closely with affiliate companies to know which products are converting well.  Solo Ads are one of the fastest ways to build a subscriber list.

Finally….once you understand the basic methods that are available, you can develop a specific marketing plan that is sure to meet your needs. Just remember that the best thing you can do is to be genuine in the way you market on the internet, if you do that your marketing efforts will be lucrative.
